Taking a Look at this Year’s M2M Evolution Conference

Posted by Norman Miglietta on 01/29/2013

With M2M Evolution kicking off this week, we thought it would be a good time to preview KORE’s activities at the event and highlight some of the trends we have been seeing in the M2M market.

This is KORE’s 3rd time attending the M2M Evolution conference and we’re excited to see some new faces and a lot of familiar ones this week in Miami. The show always presents us with the opportunity to speak with application providers in emerging markets, such as telehealth and payment processing, and to showcase the unique benefits of our network, from Global Connect to the PRiSMPro management portal to IntelliRate pricing.

At this week’s event, KORE Executive VP, Sales & Marketing, Robert Metzler will participate in the “Cellular or not to Cellular: Access Agnostic Solutions in M2M,” panel discussion with representatives from Intel, OnRamp Wireless and Orbcomm.  The panel will discuss how field operations are using wirelessly connected devices to incorporate data collection with workflow to improve mobile workforce analysis and productivity. If you’re attending M2M Evolution, please check out Robert’s panel, taking place on Wednesday, January 30 from 2:30pm – 3:15pm at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Some other discussions that we’ll be on the lookout for in Miami this week include the evolving dialogue around whether the “Internet of Things” is more hype than reality and the growing demand for cost-effective and reliable global connectivity. The globalization of M2M remains a hot button topic for a number of organizations that want to utilize M2M applications across international borders, while also eliminating the headache of working with multiple connectivity providers.

Cloud computing also remains a topic of discussion in the M2M industry. In fact, we recently announced a cloud-based application hosting offering, a natural extension of our cellular and satellite network. And while it’s still a few years away, the preparation for the demise of AT&T’s 2G network has been an increasingly hot discussion point at industry events like M2M Evolution. You can read more about my thoughts on M2M market trends in this TMCnet feature, “The Three I’s of M2M—What’s most Impacting, Imperative and Influential Today.”

So please come and find KORE at booth # 113 at M2M Evolution next week. I’d love to speak with you about all things M2M and where the future of the market is headed.
