The Power of One

The phrase "one throat to choke" will likely conjure up a vivid image in your mind. No matter what image comes to mind when you hear the phrase, it has a unique meaning in the world of M2M communications.

The Power of OneThe "Power of One" is being adopted across a number of services industries, from utilities to banking to cable television services. For instance, we are all familiar with the "ultimate bundles" of triple- and quad-play packages where services such as cable TV, high-speed Internet, wireless and landline phone services are bundled to streamline the consumer experience. The benefits of consolidating services into one provider are compelling. You have only one company to pay; one number to call when there is problem; one Website to navigate for new services; and you'll get a discount on top of everything you buy. This type of services consolidation has proven to be very successful for consumers, so why has the Power of One been more difficult to apply to business-to-business (B2B) services?

B2B offerings like machine-to-machine (M2M) communications require more support and an enhanced infrastructure to effectively deliver services across the globe. M2M applications providers demand reliable and consistent coverage regardless of geographic location. In many instances, this type of global coverage requires a hybrid network of different wireless technologies, including GSM, CDMA or satellite. By definition, M2M application providers needed to work with multiple service providers to meet their wireless network services needs. However, through a number of unique partnerships including, but not limited to, AT&T, Rogers, Iridium Satellite and Vodafone; KORE is now the only M2M network provider to offer natively provisioned and truly global GSM, CDMA and satellite services under one umbrella.

KORE has embraced the Power of One to differentiate itself by becoming the "one throat to choke" for the M2M industry; providing global coverage with one point of management for every SIM/device on our network. Customers of KORE, M2M application providers, can monitor the location of a device or asset, re-configure or disable any device, and receive real-time network usage statistics from one single, Web-based interface. Perhaps most importantly, there is only one invoice to process.

Putting the traditional headaches that stem from managing the relationships, billing, device management and support from multiple service providers aside, the single point of contact drives business efficiencies and can often improve bottom-line performance. By expending less time and personnel resources on managing M2M connectivity, application providers can focus on growing their business, servicing customers and enhancing product features. It is a true example of the Power of One.

So the next time you pick up the phone to complain about one of your current services, ask yourself, how many throats am I forced to choke every month?
