Roaming Worldwide is an Option
International Coverage and Roaming
KORE Telematics GSM services provide support in over 220 countries throughout the world. This service is optional and is easily enabled or disabled by you through our PRISM™ portal to minimize fraud or excessive charge risks. Ideal for occasional use overseas, testing and small deployments, it is a natural extension to your domestic direct connect KORE network.
The GSM network worldwide has over 2 billion subscribers – representing 82% of all cellular connections. In fact, almost 30% of the world’s population are currently GSM users. Extensive GSM coverage now exists in over 200 countries, far outstripping any other wireless standard.
With the growth in M2M applications needing coverage overseas, GSM is the only logical choice. Whether the applications are for Homeland Security, container or shipping management, high value asset – automobile or capital plant theft or high value goods – or personal security services, KORE can support these for you.
Four different radio frequencies are used throughout the world (850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz) – usually no more than two in any general region. Therefore, it is important to ensure your device supports the radio frequency employed in that region of the world. GSM services are provided in a number of bands. Many new radio modems are multi-band, but use in Europe or Asia requires 900/1800MHz support while North America requires 850 and 1900 MHz bands. In the Caribbean and Latin America, depending on country, any of the four frequencies may be in us.!
To simplify service for our customers, KORE has adopted standard rates for messaging and GPRS for devices used for occasional service overseas. And, as with all other KORE services, you will only pay for what you use – with no minimums, no set-up costs, no surprises.
