Participating in Change – the CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus
KORE Telematics is active in developing a greater awareness of the increasingly exciting role that all manner of M2M applications are playing in our world.
With innovations affecting our personal lives – tracking for Alzheimer patients, home security or even paying for home delivery pizza with debit card – broad initiatives such as smart utility metering or Homeland Security monitoring of HazMat loads – or business applications that improve truck fleet route planning or remote information gathering from pipelines, M2M is becoming mainstream.
Industry Associations such as the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) play a pivotal role with regulators and the industry in ensuring these new initiatives can be widely embraced.
One such initiative is the M2M Special Interest Group (SIG), of which KORE is a founding member. Focused on developing ways to increase visibility of the industry to investors, regulators and enterprises alike, it is also working to develop simplified and streamlined ways to shorten the time it takes for innovative new products to be certified for network use. In this area, North America is severely disadvantaged when compared to Europe, where growth has been stimulated by a much simpler set of processes.
This commitment is beneficial to the industry as a whole. Further, by leveraging the full member status of KORE on industry standards bodies such as PTCRB, we bring this significant experience to the wider WIC membership.
We can develop special programs for your organization to support multi-country services and create unique messaging or IP route options to suit your needs – all from our own internal service platforms.
