CDMA Devices from MedApps and M2M Communications Accredited
Las Vegas, Nev.—International CTIA WIRELESS 2010—March 23, 2010—KORE Telematics, the world's largest digital wireless services provider specializing in machineto- machine (M2M) communications, and Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced today that they have collaborated to obtain CDMA device approval for the MedApps HealthPal MA106 and the M2M Communications Tracker.
The devices were approved through the KORE "One-Stop" CDMA Device Accreditation Service, with Motorola providing technical support to KORE, MedApps and M2M Communications during the approval process. Created to support KORE partners, the service is designed to streamline and reduce the cost of CDMA approvals for devices used in M2M applications on the KORE network.
Alex Brisbourne, president and COO of KORE Telematics said, "MedApps and M2M Communications join a growing list of KORE customers who've been fast-tracked to CDMA device approval through the KORE service. Since the 'One-Stop' CDMA Accreditation Service debuted, we've fast-tracked nine devices in fields such as fleet/AVL, environmental monitoring and healthcare and have a similar number in the pipeline. By taking advantage of the service, our customers can focus on getting applications to market, rather than expending time and money on lengthy device approval processes."
"At Motorola we provide our customers with best in class technology and expert support. Our wireless modules enable trusted 24/7 wireless connectivity to critical applications for the healthcare and environmental monitoring markets, which demand reliable solutions - from the core of the wireless module through the network," said Dennis Kelly, NA sales director, Motorola M2M Solutions. "We are proud to partner with KORE to provide our mutual customers strong commercial and technical services, allowing them to launch products as rapidly as possible with minimal distractions. Together with KORE, Motorola can offer its M2M customers a robust and dependable end-to-end solution."
