Winnipeg, MB and Reston, Va.—January 14, 2009— KORE Telematics, the world's largest digital wireless services provider specializing in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced its sponsorship of the Winnipeg-based Varsity View 10A1 hockey team in the Atom Minor Hockey League.
"For the third year in a row, KORE is honored to support the Winnipeg community through its sponsorship of the Varsity View 10A1 hockey team," said Craig Kozlowski, director of operations, based in the company's Winnipeg Wireless Operations Centre. "As a sponsor, KORE is contributing to the success of an environment that helps children learn collaborative team building skills and confidence."
The KORE Telematics Minor Sports Sponsorship Program supports community-based programs for children ages eight to 14 years old. Based in Winnipeg, the Varsity View 10A1 hockey team, a spirited group of 10-year old youths, travels throughout Manitoba and Northern Ontario, and will also play in the U.S. again this year thanks to the KORE sponsorship. The company's contribution also helps rent ice time for the team to practice throughout the season.
"KORE Telematics is proud to sponsor the 10A1 team," added Alex Brisbourne, president and chief operating officer, KORE. "As a member of the Winnipeg business community, we're pleased that our Minor Sports Sponsorship Program will help support this worthwhile, volunteer-based association."
The 10A1 team competes in one of the best hockey leagues in Canada, the Atom Minor Hockey League. The KORE Telematics logo is proudly displayed on the back of each player's helmet and jersey, in the weekly game-day programs, at events and on the team's website, which can be found at www.hockeysite.biz/10a1.
