Running on the KORE CDMA Network, MedApps HealthPAL MA106 Honored by CDG with Inaugural Smart Wireless Award for Devices

ALPHARETTA, Ga.—October 7, 2010—KORE   Telematics, the world's largest digital wireless services provider   specializing in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced   that its partner, MedApps, Inc., a provider of solutions for the   collection, transmission and management of remotely monitored patient   data, has received a Smart Wireless Award for its innovative HealthPAL   MA106 CDMA device.

Presented by the CDMA Development Group (CDG), the Smart   Wireless Awards celebrate and promote the leading-edge wireless products   and services using modules on CDMA2000® networks in the areas of   healthcare, consumer electronics, energy and telematics. Entries are   reviewed by a panel of recognized members of the media, industry experts   and the CDG Executive Board, and judged on the overall strength of the   deployment, especially the level of innovation and the business value   obtained.

"We began working with KORE very early on to ensure that we   would be able to bring our MedApps product line, including the HealthPAL   MA106 device, online as quickly and cost-effectively as possible," said   Kent Dicks, founder and CEO of MedApps. "Working through the KORE   'One-Stop' CDMA Device Accreditation Service, we were able to have our   new HealthPAL MA106 ready for market at a lower cost, in less time, and   with fewer resources than if we had decided to handle the process on our   own. We look forward to growing our relationship with KORE as we help   patients play a more active role in their own healthcare while staying   connected to their healthcare providers."

The MedApps HealthPAL MA106 device received its CDMA network   approval through the KORE "One-Stop" CDMA Device Accreditation Service,   which is designed to make it easier and more cost-effective to obtain   CDMA network approval for cellular modems and routers, purpose-packaged   M2M network devices and embedded wireless modules used in M2M solutions.   The MedApps device relies on the KORE cellular M2M network to remotely   transmit timely and accurate health information to a patient's   electronic health record from any location. It also allows MedApps to   deploy and maintain devices outside of the hospital, using MedApps'   CloudCare™ technology platform, in a simple, flexible and cost effective   manner.

"The CDG congratulates MedApps on winning the 2010 Smart   Wireless Award for its HealthPAL MA-106 device," said Perry LaForge,   executive director of the CDG. "The MedApps telehealth device with   CDMA2000 connectivity powered by KORE is an innovative example of how   the healthcare industry is using 3G to improve people's lives."

"The CDMA device approval process can be a time-consuming   distraction to innovative M2M application providers working to bring   their products to market quickly and cost efficiently," said Alex   Brisbourne, president and COO, KORE Telematics. "KORE helps companies   like MedApps take the legwork out of CDMA device approvals, enabling   them to focus on building and growing their business. We are proud to   see MedApps receive this prestigious award and look forward to   continuing our relationship with them as the company brings additional   telehealth solutions to market."

KORE will be demonstrating the power of its cellular M2M network   at booth #729 at CTIA Enterprise & Applications 2010, taking place   October 6 – 8 at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco, Calif.
