KORE Enhances Wireless Network for M2M Service Delivery and Reliability

World's Largest Specialized M2M Communications Provider Attains 99.999 Percent Availability with Capability to Support More Than 10 Million Connected Devices

ALPHARETTA, GA.—March 16, 2011KORE Telematics, the world's largest wireless services provider specializing in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced that it has achieved 99.999 percent availability since upgrading its network in December 2009. The company has made significant investments in building a dedicated M2M network that can now scale to support more than 10 million connected devices.

To support its nearly 600 M2M application provider partners, KORE opened two new, fault-tolerant, fully-redundant data centers in Atlanta and Las Vegas with automatic fail-over. Each data center is connected via dedicated MPLS backhaul, powered by Cisco 6500 switches, Cisco 7206 routers and Cisco ASR 1004 routers.

Along with its commitment to build the largest and most reliable M2M services delivery network, KORE has also raised the bar in environmentally-friendly operations. The company is running Cisco's Unified Computing server platform on VMware's vSphere virtualization technology, decreasing its hardware requirement from 39 to four servers. In doing so, KORE reduced its BTU and power consumption by 58 percent, and decreased its network operations physical footprint by more than 80 percent.

"When it came to choosing a wireless network provider for our vehicle management solution, Mobile Control, we needed a partner that could provide the greatest possible reliability and coverage," said Bill Luoma, SageQuest's vice president of Business Operations. "KORE delivers the rock-solid availability required for our product to perform everyday. The KORE network is an integral part of our solution and has a material impact on ensuring our ability to monitor and manage the efficiency and productivity of virtually any mobile workforce."

KORE continues to deliver the unprecedented reliability and comprehensive services that set it apart from other M2M networks. The company recently announced KORE LOCATE, a complementary service to existing GPS applications that provides a single interface for locating devices across KORE GPRS and CDMA networks in the U.S. and Canada. KORE also recently added radius services, which enable KORE M2M partners and end-user companies to easily verify that their devices are live on the network and passing data, providing increased response times and advanced troubleshooting diagnostic capabilities.

"KORE designed this network to optimize M2M service delivery for our customers – partnering with industry leaders such as Compugen, Cisco, EMC and VMware to deliver the performance and fault tolerance required by the leading solution providers in the marketplace today," said Danny Thomas, vice president of Operations and Technology at KORE Telematics.

"Through a number of network investments, technology innovations and the dedication to our partners, KORE continues to increase its leadership position as the premier M2M network services provider," said Alex Brisbourne, president and COO, KORE Telematics. "The M2M industry continues to grow at record rates, and with our recent network enhancements, KORE is ideally positioned to meet this growth head on. With highly-scalable network capabilities and unmatched uptime, we're enabling partners in mobile healthcare, fleet management, utilities, mobile payments and numerous other industries to innovate and succeed."
